Medical Massage

Currently the term “Medical Massage” is NOT accepted by the:
American Massage Therapy Association
Commission On Massage Therapy Accreditation
National Certification Board on Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork
Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards
Massage Therapy Foundation
or the Massage Bodywork Licensing EXam. 

Therefore, I do not use the phrase. However, all of my therapies are in a clinical setting with intent of assisting the client through a healing phase to wellness.
 
Although the majority of my practice is through Doctor's referrals and covered by insurance, I often refer to my work as "Muscular Therapy". Alas, that term is not recognized by the state of Maine.
